International Women’s Day 2020
March 8th 2020 is a global celebration of women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. As a company, Adtraction is proud to support women’s rights and gender parity.
International Women's Day is recognised by many countries around the world and aims to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The globally recognised International Women's Day started in the early 1900's in North America and throughout Europe. In 2001 the movement welcomed in the digital era and launched the internationalwomensday.com. Since then IWD has become more widely recognised and unified across the globe.
In more recent years themes have been adopted internationally to focus the movement. These themes have included #BalanceforBetter, #PressforProgress and #BeBoldforChange.
The theme of this year’s International Women’s day is #EachforEqual.
This theme is described as a recognition of 'Collective Individualism' by those who crystalise the movement each year, explaining; “We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.”
Every year organisations celebrate and draw awareness to International Women’s Day; governments, charities, hospitals, libraries, schools, communities and of course businesses.
At Adtraction, women’s rights are not celebrated one day per year. Instead it’s a concept we practice all year round.
However, this week in particular we celebrate the women of Adtraction and their achievements.
