About bast sauna
We are three best friends who love to baste! The sauna has always been the place we have gathered after a tough day at work, a workout or to find balance in everyday life. Bast sauna was founded when we moved to Sweden's capital and lost access to the sauna in everyday life. When we tried to satisfy our need to bathe, we playfully began to investigate portable solutions to the traditional sauna. We have tested everything from the insulation of scaffolding with tarpaulin to assembling finished sauna kits. But we didn't quite manage to find a solution to our problem.
After months of research, we came to the realization, “It must be possible to isolate the heat in a tent!”. All said and done, we ordered our first samples which we tested, developed and then tested again and developed again. When we had tested seven different tents and five different stoves, we had found our winners, which we then developed over eight months. We can now offer the sauna tent that we developed for ourselves to our customers!
Our purpose
Our purpose goes beyond offering a sauna tent, it's about spreading the sauna culture by making it accessible to people, like us, who didn't have the opportunity to build a stationary, traditional sauna. We didn't realize it when we started sauna, but all of a sudden we could offer everyone who didn't have the money, space or opportunity for a stationary sauna an alternative. Our vision is to spread the sauna culture around Europe and we believe that sauna tents are a perfect solution to introduce other cultures to what we in the Nordics already know, that sauna is the best there is!
